I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at Lincoln Tower Apartments has been disappointing enough that I feel others should be warned before moving in.
I relocated from Chicago and was promised a professionally cleaned and painted apartment, with all appliances and systems in working order. None of that was true. The dishwasher was broken, heat pump system was broken. And I was without hot water for two weeks in dead cold. the apartment wasn’t properly cleaned or painted, and several maintenance issues were left unresolved.
Management has been consistently unresponsive. Any time you ask a question, the answer is always “we’ll ask Jay” — but Jay never replies or follows up. No one takes responsibility for anything.
I was also told I’d receive a $300 rent discount if I renewed my lease. There was no clear deadline communicated, and when I signed just one day late (due to technical issues with their system), they refused to honor the discount — even after I explained the situation.
The train noise is constant and disruptive. I requested a transfer to a quieter or better apartment over five months ago, and despite multiple follow-ups, I was never offered anything reasonable.
Other ongoing issues:
1. Persistent weed smell in the hallways
2. Frequent elevator breakdowns
3. Only one maintenance person for the entire building, and he’s rarely available
4. I’ve been waiting 8 months for a parking spot — still nothing
It’s clear the property is more focused on collecting rent than providing livable housing or decent customer service. Communication is poor, maintenance is slow, and you’re left to fend for yourself when problems arise.
I regret signing a lease here. Hopefully this review helps someone else make a more informed decision.
Lincoln Towers is a great place for a new young professional to live. Tour was great, Kathleen and Pete couldn't have been nicer. Active foyer with tenants eating popcorn on a Friday afternoon/evening. A place that felt like a good place to want to live. Work out room was large and expansive, rec space was nice and updates are in the work for the entire building. Excited to move my adult son in soon.
We thought we set up a tour on the correct site but when we did not receive a follow up call confirming our appointment, I reached out and left a message. Kathleen called me back and confirmed the appointment time. She told where I could park and where we would need to go.
Once we arrived, she apologized because she did not receive our request for the 5:15pm appointment BUT she was going to still assist us with a tour but also get our information. We were able to check three different 1 room, 1 bathroom apartments. Each of them was different but unique in their own ways. She also showed us the common areas, the upcoming construction and remodeling projects. She stated what we would need to do once an apartment was available and how we could stay in contact. We left feeling welcomed and ready to move in but not until later this year once more units are available. I could see how well maintained the hallways, elevators, common areas and the lobby. I like the safety features. We feel good about Lincoln Tower and are looking forward to future communications and possibly signing a new lease.
I need need the situation to be clear. Don't just the money and be weird about it later. I have spent time looking into theses apartments. The rent is insane because of the history surrounding it. Nobody talks about the homeless sleeping in the area or how many accidents happen at 2nd and edwards.this place is for the OVER priveledged
I love living in this apartment complex! I’ve been here for a long time and have had wonderful neighbors. It truly feels like home. The building is safe, and the location is very convenient. The management team and our building manager have made significant improvements, enhancing the overall living experience. Their efforts have truly made this a better place to live.
